Pudgy indigo fingers

shook the air
enraged at his capture;
by mere mortal,
a blonde tressed one at that.

How quick was she

that he
never saw her shadow
ensnaring with feminine
divinity.

Could he rise above

when so many before
had fallen gracefully?
Perhaps he was only mortal
after all.
